  1. This is part of what I think makes Trump such an interesting phenomenon, in the same way as perhaps a 10 point earthquake in the middle of Manhattan.

His interactions with those around him, seemingly always inappropriate in some form, point to the way his mind really works: a simple man, whose judgments of people often go straight to the simplest essence of their being. A woman is either "beautiful" or she is bleeding out of her uterus. A man is either 'well-endowed,' or he is a poor politician and unfit to lead a country. Trump clearly shows that not only is he incapable of leading a rebuttal that doesn't revolve around the easiest ad hominem attacks that come to mind, but he is also an extremely insecure person who feels threatened when surrounded by a beautiful woman who is also challenging him on an intellectual level.

I could make comparisons to other historical dictators, but needless to say we can all think of other examples where insecure men (yes, men) gained power and managed to cause quite a bit of damage.

Yes, there is the obvious degradation that comes from having your master's degree from Columbia reduced to how pretty you look when you ask serious questions. But that is not the only issue here. Donald Trump is only a man. But he has chosen to represent dangerous ideals; ones that are dangerous to beautiful and ugly women alike.
